As head of the Technological Infrastructure Division, Aviv Zeevi is responsible for generating collaborations between the industry and academia that create advanced technologies and innovative products; these collaborations strengthen the Israeli industry's long-term technological advantage in the fierce competition of international markets. Zeevi has vast experience in the field of technological developments, in developing online systems as well as training and simulation systems. In his most recent role he served as the head of the ICT department in the Israeli Research Directorate of the European Research Program. Zeevi has a PhD in Information Systems Management from the Tel Aviv University. He holds several additional degrees in Economics, Political Science and Management.

Professor Noam Shomron is passionate about using basic science to advance better healthcare. Professor Shomron heads the Functional Genomic Team at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, after training at MIT. He leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists that develops computational methods for parsing big-data in the bio-medical field using Artificial Intelligence. Shomron applied for more than 30 patents, published more than 200 peer reviewed publications on multiple genomic fields including medicine, agriculture, and business. Shomron is also the Editor of ‘Deep Sequencing Data Analysis’ book (Springer, Edition I 2013, and II 2021); Director of ‘Rare-Genomics’ Israel (NPO); Academic Director of ‘ScienceAbroad’ (NPO); Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Variantyx which provides clinical interpretation of whole genome sequences; Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of GotSho which writes software for genetic and Biotech labs; Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of IdentifAI which establishes noninvasive prenatal diagnostics at a single nucleotide resolution from a first trimester blood test.

Dr . Yuval Shalev is the data science research team lead in Questar Automotive technologies. Yuval has been working as a quant, data scientist and a team lead since 2008, mainly in the Fintech industry. Yuval holds a Ph.D in Industrial Engineering from the Tel-Aviv University. Previously, he completed his M.Sc studies in physics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His industrial and academic research focuses on anomaly detection using deep learning models, representation learning of time series, statistical robustness of unsupervised models and the connection between information theoretic measures and deep learning algorithms.

Yossi Matias is Vice President, Engineering & Research, at Google, and the founding Managing Director of Google Center in Israel. He is a world-renowned expert in AI and in leadership of global scale product and technology innovation. Yossi is the lead of Google’s Health AI. He is the lead of Google’s Crisis Response initiative, providing AI-based actionable information (including flood forecasting - on Fortune’s “Change The World” list). He is on Google’s Sustainability board and a founding lead of Google’s AI for Social Good initiative. Yossi pioneered Conversational AI innovations, transforming the phone experience (including Google Duplex, Call Screen, Hold for Me, Live Caption, Live Translate, Euphonia, Read Aloud). He pioneered an initiative of bringing online hundreds of heritage collections, seeding Google’s Cultural Institute. For over a decade Yossi was on the leadership team of Google’s Search, building and leading global efforts including Google Trends, Google Autocomplete, Search Console, and Search vertical experiences. Yossi is the founding exec lead of Google for Startups Accelerator which has supported thousands of startups globally. Prof. Matias is also on the Computer Science faculty at Tel Aviv University, and previously a Research Scientist at Bell Labs and visiting professor at Stanford. He published over 100 papers and is the inventor of over 60 patents on diverse areas. Yossi is a recipient of the 2005 Godel Prize, an 2009 ACM Fellow, and a recipient of the 2019 ACM Kanellakis Theory and Practice Award for seminal work on the foundations of streaming algorithms and their application to large-scale data analytics.

Prof. Eviatar Matania is a graduate of the elite military-academic program Talpiot. He held professional and leadership roles in Israel’s defense community across the fields of R&D, technological project management, intelligence analysis, and operations research. Prof. Matania then worked in the hi-tech industry as a venture capital investment lead, as an entrepreneur and as an executive. Subsequently, he returned to the Ministry of Defense to lead the elite training programs for human capital in science and technology. In parallel, he was a lecturer in the Executive MBA program of the Hebrew University, and a fellow at the Yuval Ne’eman Workshop for Science, Technology and Security of Tel Aviv University. Prof. Matania holds a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics (Hebrew University), a M.Sc. in Mathematics with an expertise in Game Theory (Tel Aviv University), and a Ph.D. in Judgment and Decision Making (Hebrew University). In late 2011 Prof. Matania was appointed to establish and head the Israel National Cyber Bureau, operating directly under the Prime Minister. In 2015 he was appointed as Director General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), responsible for Israel’s overall cyber policy and its implementation, as well as for the defense of Israel’s civilian cyberspace. On 31 December 2017 he completed his six-year term. Prof. Matania has been a thought leader in cyber strategy and policy, participating in the foremost international fora, and engaged by top government officials and leading global companies.

Prof. Dino Levy is an associate professor at the Marketing Department at Coller School of Management, Tel-Aviv University and the head of the Neuroeconomics and Neuromarketing lab since 2012. He is also a member of the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel-Aviv University and a visiting scholar at the Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of Decision Making at NYU. In his lab they use an interdisciplinary approach, which involves quantitative economic theories, combined with advanced behavioral methods and theoretical models from psychology, marketing, and economics with neuroscience techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and Electroencephalography (EEG). The main aim of his studies is to try and better understand how we make decisions and what are the neural mechanisms underlying value-based choices. The projects in the lab range from examining the neural correlates of value computations and the common currency network, deciphering the neural mechanisms of irrational choice behaviors both in humans and in basic organisms, through looking for a common denominator between basic visual perception and value computations, to projects that aim to predict future preferences and population success of marketing stimuli using neural signals.

Idan Schwartz is the head of research of Spot by Netapp, and also a postdoctoral in the Computer Science department at the Deep Learning Lab led by Prof. Lior Wolf. Idan's research focuses on cognition in deep learning, particularly in the multimodal domain, such as visual question answering and visual dialog. These cognitive processes include perception, comprehension, attention, and decision-making.

Sharon is a Principal Data Scientist at PayPal, leading the machine learning modeling guild of the fraud detection group. She develops models for fraud detection, which are at the core of PayPal’s risk system, affecting millions of PayPal users daily. Sharon also co-hosts PayPal's internal global Data Science Podcast. She holds a BSc and an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Ben Gurion University and Tel Aviv University, respectively.

Yarden is a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at PayPal, working on horizontal data science infrastructures and solutions. Yarden's current work focuses on advanced sequence processing and distributed clustering, serving multiple business applications in the risk and credit domains. Yarden's past work in PayPal includes applied research in reinforcement learning and Web Intelligence solutions, tackling a diverse set of challenges, including extreme class-imbalance and lack of labeled data in big data environment. Yarden holds a MSc in Statistics from ETH Zurich and a BA in Economics and Accounting from Tel Aviv University.

Chana Ross, Currently working at Bosch Center of AI on trajectory planning algorithms for autonomous bulldozers using Reinforcement Learning and sensor fusion. Finished a Bsc in aerospace engineering and Msc in Applied mathematics at the technion. Thesis focused on Reinforcement learning for multi-agent trajectory planning. Previously worked for over 7 years at Rafael, first in aerodynamics and then in a group which did operations research for multidisciplinary problems.

Edo Dotan is a graduate student at Tel Aviv University, Israel. In his work, he harnesses recent advances in the machine-learning field in order to revolutionize techniques in computational biology. For example, in a recent study, supervised by Profs. Tal Pupko and Adi Stern (Tel-Aviv University) and Dr. Yonatan Belinkov (Technion), Edo applied natural language processing (NLP) algorithm to one of the most fundamental tasks in bioinformatics, namely, to align sequences, i.e., tracing the homology relationships between genomic regions that descendent with modification from a common ancestor. He also applies machine-learning tools to study Covid-19 viral genome evolution. Edo holds a B.Sc. in computer science and has gained hands-on experience in the industry at Corephotonics (acquired by Samsung) before joining academia.

Andrey has been working at Wix for the last 2 years, mostly on premium prediction and NLP problems. He also enjoys teaching a deep learning course as a teaching assistant at Y-DATA. Since graduating Mamram, Andrey has gained over 10 years of industry experience, 5 of them as a data scientist.

Maya Cohen Maimon is AI & Cyber Architect - Innovation at NEC Israel Research Center. Leading teams and several research projects in cyber, deep learning and artificial intelligence. Maya is doing R&D and algorithms for over 15 years in Israel top companies. She holds papers publications and patents. Her BSc and MSc are in computer sciences from Haifa U, specialized in computational neuroscience.
 

Moni Shahar (PhD) holds first degrees in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science, and holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University. In the last 25 years he has held a variety of algorithmic leadership positions in the high-tech industry. His work spans a variety of areas including machine vision, NLP, algorithmic finance, machine learning and applied physics. In parallel to his industrial job, he teaches in the Department of Statistics and has published over 25 scientific papers.
